You’d think by now people would have become more tolerant to comedians’ touchy jokes. During a Friday stand-up show Daniel Tosh outraged at least one member of the audience with a gang rape joke. Today, the Twitter community went crazy after Daniel Tosh apologized for Friday’s gang rape joke.
The famous “Laugh Factory” comedian Daniel Tosh has publicly apologized today after making a seriously rude joke during one of his stand-up shows in Los Angeles, last Friday night.
He stated that before he was hackled, all he wanted to do is to show that good jokes can be made on any subject, but things got a little off track. So, he sent his apologizes on Twitter. “All the out-of-context misquotes aside, I’d like to sincerely apologize,” said Tosh, the 37-year-old comedian.
The event was recorded also on a Tumblr post. It was made by an anonymous woman who talked about Daniel Tosh’s controversial jokes. She writes Tosh started by talking around the subject saying that there are a lot of awful things going on in this world but they can still be funny. And gang rape jokes are among them.
The climax of the wacky show was touched when a woman in the crowd stood up and yelled to the comedian “Actually, rape jokes are never funny.” That was the moment when the “Laugh Factory” star felt provoked and made his bad joke.
In another tweet made by Chris Rock, the incident is explained by the woman in cause. According to her statement, after she yelled her point of view, Daniel Tosh made a pause and said, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if that girl got raped by, like, five guys right now? Like, right now? What if a bunch of guys just raped her?”
After the bad joke was launched, the woman stated that she got up and left the “Laugh Factory” show, feeling insulted and humiliated. “It was humiliating, of course, especially as the audience guffawed in response to Tosh, their eyes following us as we made our way out of there” confessed the woman.” I didn’t hear the rest of what he said about me” she added.
