Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks showed up on the red carpet with a special date nobody thought of. The voluptuous redhead was accompanied by a 17-year-old named David, at The Emmy Awards, Shine reports.
Christina Hendricks, 36, has several projects she is involved in at the moment. One of them is Mad Men. In the TV series, which airs on AMC, she plays the role of Joan Holloway. The other is Latisse, the growing eye-lashes drug for which she is a representative. She has been on trial for 17 weeks and reports that the drug is amazing, as her lashes have grown stronger and thicker and gives her “more to work with.” And the third project is The Make- A-Wish Foundation. The non-profit organization was created to raise money in order to make children’s wishes come true. Hendricks became involved in the initiative by making a first step towards the Latisse Wishes Challenge Campaign which aims to raise no less than half a million dollars to make a child’s wish come true. The campaign also rewards its sponsors. The first 10,000 people who donate more than 20 dollars get a free trial certificate for Latisse. This means that for 20 dollars they will get a product priced at about 120 dollars. All the potential winners need is a prescription from their physician sent to the contact address indicated on the official website of the campaign.
And now back to Christina Hendricks and her teen date. David, 17, is one of the children who got lucky. He wrote to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and said that his greatest dream is to attend the Emmy Awards Ceremony with the actress. And he got his wish.
After introducing him to the press, Hendricks says “he’s tolerating me”. “He really just wanted to come to the Emmys to see all the stars”, she added. “He’s just gonna sit back and take it all in”.
