Charlize Theron Compares Media Intrusion to being Raped

Famous actress Charlize Theron managed to create a series of headlines in the past few days. The popular actress is actually much criticized for comparing media intrusion to being raped.

Definitely, Charlize Theron is not the only celebrity in the world who is very unhappy with the fact that the media is always there to expose news linked to their personal life. Well, the actress was so unhappy with the intrusion of the media in her personal life that she actually claimed that it is like a rape.

“I don’t do that, so that’s my saving grace. When you start living in that world, and doing that, you start I guess feeling raped,” Charlize claimed when being asked if she has ever googled herself. “Well, you know when it comes to your son and your private life. Maybe that’s just me,” she added.

“Some people might relish all that stuff but there are certain things in my life that I think of as very sacred and I am very protective over them,” the famous actress explained. However, not everyone agreed with Theron, as much criticism occurred after the actress’s comments. Some even claimed that Theron should apologize for what she said.

The Hollywood star is currently running various campaigns against violence. She even took part at the campaign Real Men Don’t Rape, in which a tragic reality was exposed: in South Africa, at every 26 seconds a woman is raped. Moreover, since she took part in such campaigns, the actress was expected to have a better understanding on this extremely sensitive problem.

Following the comments, many women took Twitter to show the fact that they totally disagree to what Theron has said during her interview.  “How could you say press invasion is like rape? Think rape victims would disagree,” one of the Twitter posts said.

However, Charlize Theron is not the only actress who made a mistake with some very inappropriate comments. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow drew a lot of criticism, as well, when she claimed that struggling with Internet trolls is similar to being a soldier in the war. The comparison between her Hollywood life and the drama that soldiers and their families have to go through was considered unacceptable by many people in their online comments.
