There’s virtually no one left on this planet who doesn’t know about the Axl Rose – Slash controversy. In fact, for that matter it’s likely one of the most popular and lengthy feuds in recent rock music history. While Slash is pretty quiet about it, Axl Rose gets visibly pissed whenever people bring it up. And Charlie Sheen’s latest diss won’t help either.
The controversial actor was at Slash’s Walk of Fame ceremony this Tuesday and looked thrilled to be there. “How frickin’ bad do I wanna be me right now?!” he said joining Slash at the event. “I think it’s very appropriate that Slash is getting a star on the very street Axl rose may someday be sleeping on !” blasted Charlie Sheen at the absent Guns N’ Roses frontman.
The “Two and a Half Men” star referred to Slash a “rock God” and hinted he was “winning”, most likely in the controversy with Axl Rose. Charlie Sheen also made a joke about the years him and the guitarist were partying hard. “It’s going to be stepped on more than the coke we did in the ‘80s” said the actor. Don’t you just love Charlie Sheen?
At the event, Slash said: “It turned out to be really great. It’s such a great accomplishment. I’m overwhelmed”. The ceremony ended in a sort of Guns N’ Roses performance. Former band member Steven Adler joined Slash on stage while performing “Sweet Child O’ Mine”.
Musician Myles Kennedy was also at Slash’s ceremony. He gave an acoustic performance of “Back from Cali”, a track from Slash’s solo album and even answered questions from the audience. One question in particular brought up the birth of “Not For Me”. Kennedy said the lyrics “were inspired by a conversation I had with Slash about starting over after reaching a threshold with some bad habits”.
Slash’s induction in to the Walk of Fame takes place only three months later after the Guns N’ Roses own ceremony. Ahead of the Guns N’ Roses Walk of Fame ceremony, there was hope Axl Rose would put aside the differences and come enjoy the appreciation with the band. But it was such a sensitive issue for Axl Rose, he announced he wasn’t going to show up.
