It definitely seems that Cesar Millan is dealing with some criticism. And the accusations are quite shocking. The famous dog behaviorist was accused of animal cruelty. The allegations emerged after a dog attacked a pig on Cesar Millan’s reality show.
According to the LA County Animal Control, an official investigation has started on the case. Authorities conducted a visit at the star’s dog psychology center, in Santa Clarita, California, on March 10th. The news was first reported by TMZ, which claimed that the investigation started after a series of complaints were filed against Millan.
So, the department received a series of complaints from viewers, after the episode featuring the cruel scene was aired on Cesar 911 show, on February 26. So, the episode tried to present a new technique that Millan developed and which aimed to stop a French bulldog, Simon, from attacking other dogs. However, at one point Millan decided to put a pig in the training session, with the purpose to prevent the dog from getting hurt in case of some aggressive actions.
Well, things did not turn our well, as the dog actually bit the pig’s ear and it just started to bleed. The show airs on Nat Geo Wild, which immediately issued a statement, trying to defend Cesar and to clarify the fact that the pig was not severely harmed and received assistance immediately after.
“The pig that was nipped by Simon was tended to immediately afterward, healed quickly and showed no lasting signs of distress,” an official statement from the network indicated. Furthermore, it went on to add that Cesar actually turned out to help the aggressive dog. Nat Geo Wild said that Simon’s behavioral problems were cured and the dog overcame the aggression, of course, as a result of Millan’s intervention.
“As a result, Simon did not have to be separated from his owner or euthanized,” the statement concluded. Cesar Millan has not commented on the investigation, which is yet to be concluded. Thus, it remains unclear which outcomes will result from this probe.
