Numerous celebrities deal with weight issues and weight fluctuations and many times such problems make them insecure. Of course, not only celebrities could be dealing with weight struggles. Well, one of the latest stars who has talked about such issues is Wentworth Miller. The actor opened up about his struggle with body image in a Facebook post. It seems that the star wanted to respond to all those who have commented on his weight gain problems.
So, in his Facebook post, the actor actually talked about his battle with depression and suicidal thoughts. The weight problems experienced in 2010 made the star semi-retired, Miller being willing to stay away from the public’s eye. “Ashamed and in pain, I considered myself damaged goods. And the voices in my head urged me down the path to self-destruction,” the actor claimed.
Wentworth also revealed that this time in his life had actually been “the lowest point in my adult life.” The actor said he needed comfort and he found help in food. “I was looking everywhere for relief/comfort/distraction. And I turned to food. It could have been anything. Drugs. Alcohol. Sex. But eating became the one thing I could look forward to. … And I put on weight. Big f–king deal,” Miller said.
The actor went on to say that seeing pictures of himself from that time only reminds him of the struggle he had been through. “The first time I saw this meme pop up in my social media feed, I have to admit, it hurt to breathe. But as with everything in life, I get to assign meaning. And the meaning I assign to this/my image is Strength. Healing. Forgiveness. Of myself and others,” the actor explained.
Well, besides talking about his personal struggle, the actor also went to say that people dealing with similar issues should keep in mind the fact that they are not alone and help can be found for their situation. “If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. Reach out. Text. Send an email. Pick up the phone. Someone cares. They’re waiting to hear from you,” the successful Prison Break actor concluded.
