Paris Hilton launches her new accessories brand in India

A few days ago, blonde heiress and socialite Paris Hilton launched her new accessories brand in India, Reuters reports.

Even though not always taken seriously on a social life level, Paris Hilton is definitely serious about the business side of her personality, being the proud developer of a worldwide successful brand. Currently touring India, she launched a new line of products focused mainly on manufacturing handbags and accessories. This event took place last Saturday at a mall in Mumbai.

Her serious side was, as well, on display during a press conference held in Turkey’s capital, Istanbul, when the 30-year-old hotel owner was introducing a new shoe line. She outlined that the features a woman needs to nurture in order to be successful nowadays are “dedication and work, believing in yourself, having confidence”. In equal measure driven by her family’s success in the business world, as well as the need to live up to their expectations, Paris decided to make her mark on the world in an original way, developing her own brand. “Watching my grandfather, my great grandfather, what they’ve created, I wanted to create something of my own”.

The near future reserves for Paris a series of new endeavors, starting with the launching of eight Hilton stores all over India, solely dedicated to marketing her new accessories and bags collection. The stores should be ready for the public by the end of next year’s spring, the last one being opened in March. At the same time, she is involved in numerous other projects, which include: working on a new album, developing a fresh business in the real estate area and writing a book. Furthermore, Paris is seriously thinking about becoming a producer for TV shows and even movies, without revealing, for the time being, the genre or genres she has in mind.

Frances Bean Cobain starts modeling

Frances Bean Cobain, the 19-year-old daughter of Courtney Love and late Nirvana guitarist, Kurt Cobain, has recently started her modeling career. She has already posed for photographer Hedi Slimane and Rocky Schenck. Fashion Director Amina Akhtar talked to the Rolling Stone magazine about how “stunning”, “sexy”, “beautiful” and “confident” Frances reveals herself to be.

The latest photo shooting of Frances Bean Cobain was done by photographer Hedi Slimane. The photos, all black and white, show a woman that looks older than 19, in a rebellious state, smoking, showing off tattoos and appearing to keep something to herself at all costs. In one of the photos, she is smoking against a fence and leaning against a ripped American flag. In another photo she reveals a tattoo on her hand saying “L’art est la Solution du Chaos” (“Art is the Solution Chaos”).
In August, Cobain posed for fashion photographer Rocky Scenck. The photo session was inspired by the 50’s movie star look. Scenck has also worked with Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman and Annie Lenox. Looking at the photos, Fashion Director Amina Akhtar told Rolling Stone that Cobain is “stunning”, but she also has a bit of nostalgia incorporated in her looks. “I mean, who doesn’t remember the early nineties and where they were when they found out about Kurt?”, she explained. “We all remember her growing up, and now she’s come out into her own as this sexy, beautiful woman”, Akhtar continues and outlines that the thing that struck her was the confidence and the strength she recognized in the 19-year-old.
Frances Bean Cobain is standing on her own feet since 2009, when her mother, Courtney Love has lost custody of her. Her father, famous musician Kurt Cobain, was found dead in 1994, after shooting himself in the head. Courtney Love said at the time that he had tried to kill himself before, by overdosing. Frances was only two years old.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Winslet: best dressed at Venice Film Festival

Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Winslet are thought to be the best dressed celebrities at Venice Film Festiva, Us Weekly reports.
The Venice Film Festival was yet another event that allowed the Hollywood celebs to pride themselves with their sense of fashion, their silhouette and their genius ideas of matching dresses with shoes, purses, earrings and smiles. The Festival was also a chance for shows like The Fashion Police and other critics in the mass media and the show business to compare, judge and deliberate on who was the best dressed celebrity on the red carpet.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow was among the top of the “best dressed” list, wearing a pink dress signed by Prada at the premiere of the horror movie “Contagion”. She added more shine to her looks with gold jewelry by Bvlgari and matched it all with Vernice peep-toe platforms. She looked like a romantic style porcelain doll.

Kate Winslet took after Marilyn Monroe. She has a curvier silhouette, so she had to adapt her style to her body. And she did it amazingly perfect.  She appeared in a black and white dress signed by designer Stella McCartney. She added peep-toe heels and wowed with her looks. Her “Mildred Pierce” co-star, chameleonic Evan Rachel Wood, stunned in her sheer lace-stripped black Alessandra Rich gown.

Model Bar Refaeli, the ex-girlfriend of actor Leonardo DiCaprio was spectacular in her black jumpsuit with a plunging neckline, signed by Emilio Pucci. She attended the premiere of “Carnage”.

The four were voted the “best dressed” at the event by several magazines and TV hosts. Here are some other celebrities who were thought as being well dressed for the occasion:

Diane Kruger made a sensual appearance in a delicate tulle nude-colored gown by Elie Saab. She matched it with peep-toe high heel shoes and a natural hairstyle.
Keira Knightley made quite an appearance in her Valentino haute couture gown. Her figure was beautifully defined by the long sleeved, gold embroidered tulle gown.
Former model Cindy Crawford was stunning in a bold red one shoulder gown signed by Roberto Cavalli.

Heather Morris Bruised Barbie photos raise violence trend concerns recently reported that “Glee” actress Heather Morris has posted photos from her latest shooting illustrating a bruised Barbie.  The photos, which seemed to have a lot in common with the words “domestic” and “violence”, raised concerns about a rising violence trend.

The latest artistic photos that actress Heather Morris has posted on her blog have started a controversy on whether violence scenes are becoming a trend. The photos seem to illustrate a housewife of the 50s who is holding an iron and has a black eye. At least that’s what the media saw.

According to photographer Tyler Shields, who took the pictures, the idea was to illustrate an abused Barbie Doll (how is this any better?). “Even Barbie gets bruises”, Shields wrote on his blog, where he uploaded the photos. Trying to explain the artistic idea behind the photos, Morris adds that “we wanted to do a bruised-up Barbie shoot and that’s exactly what we did!” The actress said that the idea was not to promote domestic violence. “In no way were we promoting domestic violence”, she told E! News.

The “Bruised Barbie” photos are just the latest in a long line of violence-inspired artistic photos appearing in the media. A few weeks ago, a salon made the news because it had an ad illustrating a bruised model.  And about the same time, in mid-August 2011, Vogue Italia uploaded on its website an accessory called “Slave Earrings”. After a huge number of critics calling Vogue’s choice of words “insanely offensive”, the magazine has apologized for the name given to the product, invoking wrong translation from English to Italian. The editors changed the name of the product to “ethnic style earrings”.

And now back to Bruised Barbie! Comments of Tyler Shield’s blog are mixed. Some viewers find it offensive, exclaiming “we’re glamorizing bruises/abuse now?” Others believe it’s a “great work” although “weird”.

Green Fashion: Why do celebrities choose Emerald Green

Green Fashion takes the lead spot in the Red carpet Events. And we are not talking about environmental friendly clothing this time, but about the Emerald shade of green. Which celebrities have intuited its fashion value and why they chose it, read below.

Lately, a huge number of celebrities have been seen wearing green on the red carpet. And the reason was not to be in a pleasant contrast with the bright shade of red of the carpet (although,” it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” as the song says). The truth is that Emerald green has been paid attention to way too little by the fashion world. And, as any elements that have not yet been exploited, it turns out to be very resourceful when it comes to mixing and matching this shade to other colors, accessories, textures and so on.

The passion for Emerald green has begun in January 2011, when Angelina Jolie and Mila Kunis were seen wearing it. They started the trend. And now, the jewel color is still in the preferences of many singers, actresses, reality stars and socialites. Even the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, couldn’t stay away.  The dress she is wearing in this photo is so simple and elegant. The color is enough to set it out from the crowd. Among other celebrities who decided to try the hypnotic effect of Emerald green are: Rachel Weisz, Kristin Davis, Rose Byrne, Christina Applegate and Taylor Swift.

So, why wear it? First of all, the color screams “ladylike-chic”, as InStyle says.  It is sophisticated, feminine and bold. You can wear it with bright-colored accessories and shoes.

In addition to that, green is a color that has a positive impact on the brain. It is the only color that offers a perfect emotional and psychological balance, releases the tension and prevents stress. Plus, in color therapy, green is known to help the weight loss process.

Ryan Reynolds and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for Marks&Spencer: HOT HOT HOT

The photos of new collection of Marks& Spencer feature two of the hottest cinema appearances of the moment: Ryan Reynolds and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The duo made chemistry in front of the camera, posing in provocative or cozy ways, as E! Entertainment reports.
At first, we thought that Ryan Reynolds hooked up with Jason Statham’s girl, hottie Rosie Huntington-Whiteley…but then we saw it was just acting in a photo session for Marks& Spencer. Now, before jumping to conclusions or talking about how good they look together, let’s talk about the Marks& Spencer’s ad campaign for the fall collection. The fashion house proposes a feminine a comfortable, but sexy look for the ladies and a comfy and stylish look for the men.

“”I was thrilled when M&S asked me to be in their campaign, Ryan Reynolds, 34, told E! “I’m from Canada and grew up with the M&S brand. Going into an M&S store with my family or friends, always gives me a beautiful pang of nostalgia”, the Change-Up star added.

Unlike Ryan, who has had some experience modeling, Rosie, 24, is like a fish in the water. The Victoria’s Secret Angel could take acting lessons from Reynolds, but when it comes to posing, she is the titan. She has worked with some of the most famous catwalk brands – Burberry, Miss Sixty, Loewe, Prada, Giles Deacon. She has modeled for Godiva campaigns and she has been on the cover of every fashion magazine that counts: ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, GQ and many others. This May, she was voted No.1 in Maxim’s “Hot 100 list”. She was also voted the Sexiest Woman in 2011 in a FHM poll.

Reynolds and Whiteley make a cute couple in the M&S photos. But in real life, she is romantically involved with tough-looking actor (and former  professional swimmer) Jason Statham ( Transporter ) and he just got out of a marriage.

Shoes dictate who you are, Rachel Weisz believes

For some people, it’s the shoes that dictate who they are.  And especially for actors, who are actually trained to use the surroundings, the objects they have or wear when impersonating a character, with the purpose of becoming more that character. Actress Rachel Weisz says in her latest interview to Lucky Magazine that the shoes helped her get into character.

Shoes shape our way of walking and our posture. At its turn, our posture influences the way we feel about ourselves. And in the end, what we feel dictates how we behave. So, there is a big difference of attitude between walking in high heels, walking in cowboy boots and walking in flats or flip-flops. You must then understand why Victoria Beckham could feel a lower self-esteem if, following the back injury incident, she would have the perspective of wearing flats for a while.

Actress Rachel Weisz is an adept of this idea, stating that she is very influenced on the inside by the pair of shoes she is wearing. The fresh wife of British James Bond star Daniel Craig, confessed to Lucky Magazine that “Shoes can turn [one] into someone else in an instant”. The actress gave some examples: “I did a film called ‘The Brothers Bloom,’ and I wore really clunky boots — and I was this eccentric weirdo”, she starts. “And then in ‘The Whistleblower, (in which she plays a cop) “I wore police boots that made me walk tough”, she added.  In her latest movie, horror “Dream House”, which hits the theaters on September 30, she plays “a wife redoing a home we just bought, and I wore a lot of light sneakers that are all cute and homey and make me feel kind of doo-doo-doo, I’m domestic and painting.”

What we are interested in is if the opposite is available as well: can the mood dictate the shoes you choose to wear? And if so, how many shoes do we need?

Vogue Paris presents 10-year old girl in sexy photo shoot

Vogue Paris has taken a risky step into the fashion photo shooting by presenting a 10-year-old girl posing with a sexy attitude. The girl, the daughter of a reporter turned fashion designer and a soccer star is photographed in fur, high heels, applying lipstick and giving a seductive look to the camera.

The Vogue Paris photos show the 10-year-old French model Thylane Loubry Blondeau in sensual photos that make the onlookers uncomfortable. In one, Blondeau wears a golden dress with a low cleavage, golden high heels and a smoky-eyed-make-up. She poses seductively on an animal print leather bed, petting two fluffy bunnies.  In another photo she lays on her belly, wearing a sexy red and white dress and sparkling long earrings, red nail polish, a fashionable ankle oversized bracelet and again, high heels. Anyone who sees the photos can notice the gigantic difference from what her age is and what the make up is trying to make her look like.

“This is clearly child exploitation and her parents should be legally charged”, the CEO of Concerned Women for America, Penny Nance, said. Thylane, the daughter of fashion designer Veronika Loubry and soccer player Patrick Blondeau was not the only child model in the photo shooting. But in comparison to the other girls, her photos were clearly more seductive and attracted the criticism of several organizations and those of the media. Koa Beck, deputy editor of explained that the photos depict a sexualized child, encouraging the readers to see her as a sexual being at such a young age. “I think that I’m seeing a very young girl being sexualized, being gazed at in a very adult way.”

The American Psychological Association stated through Shari Miles-Cohen that children should not be forced to grow up that fast. “We want them to be able to develop physically, emotionally, psychologically and socially at appropriate rates for their age,” she concluded.
