The First Lady of France might make president Sarkozy a daddy. According to US Magazine, when asked a Le Parisien reporter if the answer to whether she’s expecting a baby would be known in six months, she giggled and said “Yes!” (awkward way to construct a question, if you ask me).
And, if she weren’t the wife of such an important political man at a global level, she would have said more. But, when asked details about the possibility of a pregnancy, she said she wasn’t able to go into details about her personal life:
“I would love to speak woman-to-woman of my family life, my personal dreams, of the details of certain things. Moreover I am very talkative. But here, in a way, I have my mouth sewn shut!”
The 43-year-old former model and singer, who is starring in the upcoming movie Midnight in Paris, wanted to mention that she wouldn’t be so secretive if she hadn’t had a good reason to be. According to Reuters she said: “[It’s] not because of arrogance or a desire to be secretive.
My lips are sealed to protect something and to protect all the work (Sarkozy) does. I would really like to talk about it but then it would take over everything else… So I will not answer.”
Carla Bruni has a son from a former marriage, while Nicholas Sarkozy has 3 children from two former marriages.
If she were pregnant, this would be their first child together.
Speculations about her pregnancy have begun. Several French publications have released articles that not only suspect, but claim this news is true. Among them, the last edition of the French magazine Closer had an article under the headline ‘Pregnant at last’. Yesterday, Le Journal du Dimanche, Le Parisien and Le Figaro had a similar story published.
While Closer Magazine hasn’t proven itself to be the most reliable source when it comes to rumours, Le Figaro, that is particularly supportive of Sarkozy, is said not to have published these rumours if there wasn’t anything true about them. In addition, it has been noticed that lately Mrs. Bruni Sarkozy wears loose clothing, which is not her usual style.
Neither the Elysee Palace, nor senior ministers, have denied these pregnancy claims, but they explained that they could not say anything to combat or support them, because the matter was to do with the couple’s private life.
