On Monday, secretive Carey Mulligan, who does not want to talk about her rumored wedding plans, showed off a fabulous engagement ring on the Sydney Airport in Australia. According to Us Magazine, the couple is engaged for a while now, but their representatives would not comment on the engagement.
“Drive” star Carey Mulligan is 26 years old and is ready to take her romantic relationship to another level. Apparently, her beau, musician Marcus Mumford, who is two years younger than her, feels the same way. So they got engaged. At first the engagement rumors had no basis, being only speculation and suppositions. But now, a big rock on Mulligan’s finger reveals that there is definitely much more to this than just a rumor. The actress was photographed on Monday on the airport in Sydney, Australia, and she was wearing a fabulous engagement ring.
Mulligan and the Mumford & Sons singer are engaged since August and have done that “after only five months of dating”, a source tells Us Weekly. “They’re a great couple,” the source continued. “Very sweet.” The two met while studying in London.
Before dating Marcus Mumford, Carey Mulligan has been in a relationship with the Transformers franchise star, Shia LaBeouf for about a year. They started dating in August 2009 and by October 2010 rumors started spreading that the two are not together anymore. After calling it quits, Carey has been romantically linked with British actor Tom Sturridge for a short while.
The same year, Mumford ended his relationship with singer Laura Marling.
Carey may not talk about her new big sparkler, but she is extremely willing to talk about her latest movie, Drive. When interviewed by Flicks and Bits about the film, she reveals, among other things, her favorite scene in the movie and the reason why she is glad her character did not chose Ryan Gosling’s in the end. “One of my favourite scenes is driving down the river basin; it is all a bit heightened and the reality is slightly different”, the actress says and adds that “it is two different worlds really”. And when talking about Irene’s final decision, she says: “I like that she doesn’t choose [Driver]”. She explains that her character’s main goal is not money, or having a wild adventure, but the protection of her family.
“Drive” was released in the United States on September 16.
