There were many celebrities on the Red Carpet that inspired us with the looks they have chosen for the Cannes Film Festival. However, we have decided to stick with Diane Kruger’s ponytail bun because this type of hairstyle is perfect for any occasion, especially in the summer time. This look is not just easy to reproduce, but also very practical whether we need to go to work, to a party or spend a day at the pool.
The best hairstyles are usually the ones that are easy to accomplish, but look very sophisticated and elegant. Diane Kruger has made a perfect choice for this year’s edition of the Cannes festival because she took the star of the moment, the ponytail and upgraded it with a bun.
The first step you need to make for this coif is to apply a serum that makes hair sleek and tames fly-aways. You should apply a bigger quantity of product in case your hair is wavy or curly because you need extra hold to keep locks in place.
Once your hair is smooth and manageable enough, you can gather the mane in one ponytail and place it below your crown. Use a thin elastic to fix the ponytail; it is even better if you can find clear elastics as you won’t have to worry whether they match your hair color or not.
Take one piece of hair of about half an inch and let it loose while you take care of the rest of the hair. Roll the remaining hair of the ponytail into a bun and secure it with bobby pins for a better hold. Once you have finished the first part of the updo, you will take the loose piece of hair and simply wrap it around the bun until the elastic is perfectly covered. Make sure you pin down the end of the strand so it wouldn’t come off.
You may choose to wear this hairstyle as it is or you may embellish it with various accessories. For a more elegant look, you can wear it with a headband. If you want a glamorous updo for special occasions add a jeweled hair clip to the bun.
