Former winner of “Celebrity Apprentice”, Bret Michaels is using his recently validated skills to launch in the business world. Currently, he shows interest for two fields, guitars and pets.
His first venture is supported by a partnership with Dean Guitars of Home Shopping Network. Michaels’ “Signature Acoustic Guitar Collection” became available on October 2nd. The release was held in a studio where the rock artist performed in a six song concert, including his band hit “Every Rose Has Its Thorn’.
Future holds more business interests for Michaels with a new product line launch. Set for the summer of 2012, the pets line release is a team effort involving an exclusive partnership with PetSmart for developing the “Bret Michaels Pet Rock Collection”.
Matt McAdam, the vice president of PetSmart, considers the addition of the new “cool” collection as yet another mean for the brand to meet the expectations of its customers.
Proud owner of two dogs he loves, the rock artist is very enthusiastic at the thought of working on the pet collection. “I know my own pets rock, and I wanted to design a line of pet products every bit as fun and cool as they are”, Michaels recently stated.
PetSmart is not new to this kind of collaboration. In 2010 they launched a line of products designed along side Martha Stewart.
The end of 2010, revealed Michaels engagement with his long time girlfriend Kristi Gibson and the start of 2011 found the artist touring North America and releasing his fourth album.
In January 2011, the rocker had to undergo heart surgery. The doctors discovered a hole in his heart after having him treated for his warning stroke and brain hemorrhage. The surgery succeeded in placing a device in Michaels heart designed to stop the abnormal flow of blood between two of his heart chambers. It is this flow that is considered to have led to the stroke in the first place.
Michaels considers that the cause of all his health problems originated in the injury he sustained while performing in 2009 Tonys which led to a subarachnoid hemorrhage caused by the head trauma. The artist filed a lawsuit against CBS and Tonys.
Poison’s time of glory was populated by hits such as “Nothing But a Good Time” and “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”, released in the 80s. Michaels however managed to stir his fans gathering in a whole new direction with staring in the VH1 production “Rock of Love”.
