He is one of the most popular and wealthy celebrities in the world, but that doesn’t make him feel safer. In fact, for Brad Pitt having a gun in the house is the only thing that makes him feel better about his family’s safety.
In an interview with Live magazine, Brad Pitt talked about his preference for having a gun in the house. Despite recent mass shootings in the U.S. that sparked controversy against owning fire arms, Brad Pitt says it’s strange but he feels better having a gun hidden in the house.
“America is a country founded on guns. It’s in our DNA. It’s very strange but I feel better having a gun. I really do” Brad Pitt told Daily Mail’s Live magazine. “ I don’t feel safe, I don’t feel the house is completely safe, if I don’t have one hidden somewhere. That’s my thinking, right or wrong” the 48-year-old actor added.
He explained he is used to having a gun. In fact, from what he told Live magazine, Brad Pitt got his first gun at a very young age. Now, there’s not much of a surprise that boys and BB guns used to be a common thing some forty decades ago. But it does gets a bit insane when Brad Pitt confessed he had his first shotgun at six years old and a handgun by eight.
“I got my first BB gun when I was in nursery school. I got my first shotgun by first Grade, I had shot a handgun by third Grade and I grew up in a pretty sane environment” Brad Pitt told the magazine.
In the end, Brad Pitt does have a lot of people to worry about for their safety. He has six kids and his wife is one of the most popular women in the world. As a dad, that’s a lot of worries.
Brad Pitt’s interview for Live magazine is a first-hand insight to the family life of the Jolie-Pitts. The 48-year-old actor confessed that while schedules are usually insanely hectic, the family somehow manages to get together for at least one meal a day.
“Right now, Mama is working but the day always starts with breakfast, all of us together” revealed Brad Pitt. “It’s chaos and a joy. When they are young like this, it’s special, and I’m very aware they’ll be grown up before we know it. I see it already and I’m clinging on with my nails” he added.
