Brad Pitt is without a doubt a talented actor. The star has managed to achieve great performances in all kind of roles, from comedies, to action movies. While promoting his upcoming war movie, the actor claimed that he has actually been a gun owner since kindergarten.
The popular actor said in an interview with Radio Times that he received his first gun at a very young age. He got the gun from his grandfather. “There’s a rite of passage where I grew up of inheriting your ancestors’ weapons,” the Hollywood star explained. “My brother got my dad’s. I got my grandfather’s shotgun when I was in kindergarten,” he added.
Moreover, the 50 year old actor claimed that he initially received an air gun. However, at the age of 6 he got his first shotgun. By the age of 8, he fired his handgun for the first time. The actor went on to explain that his father taught him everything he had to know. “The positive is that my father instilled in me a profound and deep respect for the weapon,” the star claimed.
The popular actor has 6 children. One of them, Maddox is actually very passionate about tanks. The star’s eldest son helped the actor when he started filming for his upcoming movie. Brad Pitt said that Maddox knows so much about tanks that he just went to him to ask for information.
This is not the first time when Brad Pitt has decided to talk about gun ownership. The famous actor claimed during an interview with the Daily Mail, dating back to 2012, that America actually is “a country founded on guns. It’s in our DNA.”
“It’s very strange, but I feel better having a gun,” the husband of Angelina Jolie explained. “I don’t feel the house is completely safe if I don’t have one hidden somewhere. That’s my thinking, right or wrong,” he added.
Apparently, Brad Pitt felt quite comfortable in his new role. Without a doubt, the popular actor is expected to achieve a great performance in his upcoming Second World War movie, Fury.
