BMW Motorsport has announced a series of improvements for model Z4 GT. The purpose of these changes is to improve aerodynamic efficiency and to increase competitiveness of the car in GT3 class. Chassis also was modified to perform better on the race track.
The Z4 GT series is based on the BMW Z4. One of the differences between the version racing and the version number is 4.4 liter engine with eight cylinders, compared with six-cylinder engine for the Z4.
ECU408 modern unit is responsible for engine management, and the regulation Power400 for drive actuators. Power is transmitted to wheels through a sequential six-pack. Shifting is done through valves.
BMW Z4 GT3 was released in 2010 and soon after a year, Schubert team won with the race of 24 hours in Dubai. This was the first victory for BMW Z4 GT3in a race marathon . For 2011 the expectations are even greater, and GT3 teams waiting to take advantage of those changes.
Car body is made ??of steel and is designed to BMW Plant Regensburg. Aggregate block V8 engine is produced at BMW’s Landshut plant. Dingolfing plant in rear axle differential contributes, among other components. The wings, hood, roof, and many other parts are made ??of carbon fiber with reinforced plastic .
