The stars of the Big Bang Theory are definitely unhappy with their current contracts. It seems that the actors of the popular television series want to be better paid and the negotiations with producers have caused delays in filming.
The Big Bang Theory is set to start its 8th season soon, but unfortunately production has not started yet, as the cast of the show and its producers cannot reach an agreement over payments and salaries. It has been revealed that the Big Bang Theory actors want bigger salaries, asking to be paid no less than $1 million per episode.
The stars of the show, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg actually did not show up on the set for the first day of production. The four stars should have been at work on Wednesday. Well, reports indicate that negotiations still continue and it is yet to see what will happen. The Big Bang is now the most-watched television series in the United States. The show has an audience of 23.1 million and the number of The Big Bang Theory fans is without a doubt impressive throughout the world.
At the beginning of the year, it has been revealed that the show has been renewed for no less than 3 more seasons. This means that fans should be able to watch the adventures of the group of friends until 2017. However, filming for the 8th season has been put on hold and there is no word on when the stars will return on the set.
“Due to ongoing contract negotiations, production on The Big Bang Theory – which was originally scheduled to begin today – has been postponed” an official statement indicated. Apparently, the main actors of the show won’t return to work until they will get the desired salary, which is said to be $1 million. This move from the cast came as a surprise for everyone.
If they will receive the desired salary, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg will become the best paid actors in television. Currently, Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer receive the biggest salaries when it comes to television series.
