In the beginning of this week, former Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel claims that she really was lost at sea, despite the insinuations of blogger Ilana Angels, that the story was made-up. Us Magazine says that with the occasion, Frankel set things straight in regard with the other rumors circulating about her lately, including the one that she was expecting.
On Monday, Bethenny Franket tweeted about “last week’s idiocies”. She made a list of 4 lies told about her private life in the last days. “1)I have a “nice” coach 2)I’m getting divorced 3)I’m pregnant 4)I lied re: being lost at sea. Anything else?”
Her reaction came as sort of a feedback to an article appeared in the Jewish Journal. Writer Ilana Angel claimed that her story about being lost at sea for almost a whole 24 hours was a joke. She contacted Tim Russell the man who was called out to Bethenny’s boat that day and the 4—year-old man set the record straight. According to Frankel she, her husband, her therapist and some of the Bravo team members were lost at sea with no GPS and called for help. They contacted the Coast Guard and were suggested to call a tow company as their boat seemed fine. The Coast Guard confirmed that their GPS was actually working. Then the therapist called Mr. Russell, who, at his turn, thought it was a joke, as the boat looked quite ok. But he could not ignore the call, so he and his wife went to see what was wrong. The therapist insisted they needed help. “They did not need a tow as the boat was fine. They simply followed Tim and his wife back to the shore with no towing and a functioning GPS”, Mrs. Angel’s article says.
On September 19, Frankel told E! News that she spent 20 hours on a sailboat, embarking on a trip that was supposed to last only 8 hours. “It was very scary” she says, as at one point a giant wave hit the boat. Her therapist who was also the sailor, called for help at that point. She recalled the event as “absolutely traumatic”.
