Ben Affleck is once again in the middle of the media attention. According to a new report, the popular actor is dealing with alcohol addiction and is seeking rehab treatment for his issues. Allegedly, Ben has underwent a rehab stay a few months ago, but he now needs medical help once again.
The report was first shared by In Touch, which claimed that Ben’s addition issues have not been solved. The report cited a source reportedly close to the actor, which claimed that his “drinking has gotten worse.” The insider explained that the famous actor “is spiraling out of control” and this is why the people close to him “are urging him to go into inpatient rehab.”
The source explained that Ben is perfectly aware of this situation, but he wants to seek the treatment he needs at his own pace. “He knows he needs to check back into rehab,” the source claimed. “The problem is that he wants to go on his terms. He wants to do it on his time, but like most addicts, that time keeps getting put off. This relapse has gone on too long already,” the same insider explained.
The source revealed that when Ben makes the decision to undergo treatment, he is very committed to it and does exactly what he is required to do. “When he does [get help], he takes the treatment very seriously and listens to all of the staff’s advice,” the source said. “This is a disease and he wants nothing more than to be present for his family and his girlfriend.”
Ben has constantly been in the media attention following his separation from his former wife, actress Jennifer Garner. He is currently dating Lindsay Shookus. The source said that Lindsay may not be the best influence for the famous actor at the moment, mostly because Ben is encouraged to drink during their outings. The insider claimed that Lindsay does not realize that she is enabling his addition.
Ben underwent rehab about seven months ago to deal with his issues. A US Weekly report denied the claims made by In Touch, saying that a source close to the actor revealed that Ben is taking a lot of care of himself and is living a healthy life now.
