Kim Kardashian’s Sexy Dance With Beyoncé

Given her relationship with Kanye West, Kim Kardashian is now part of the big R&B family. The reality TV star was spotted doing a sexy dance in company of Beyoncé Knowles while their hubbies, Jay-Z and Kanye were performing at “Watch the Throne” concert in Birmingham, England, says Us Weekly.

Although the two stars never spend too much time together, we could be witnessing the beginning of a beautiful friendship between Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé Knowles. The two spent an entire evening together as their partners, Kanye West and Jay-Z, were performing on the Birmingham stage. At a certain point, Kim and Beyoncé started moving lasciviously to the rhythm of the R&B music and what’s even more surprising they looked as they were having a good time.

Sexy as usual, the two girls were making great efforts to go unnoticed in the audience. Even though they wore casual clothes, Kim and Beyoncé would still stand out from the rest of the people cheering in the crowd. The Kardashian sister was wearing a demure black top and a pair of jeans, whereas the “Run The World” singer was very sexy in a white T-shirt and black leather leggings.

Sources claim that the photos shouldn’t surprise people as the two celebrities respect each other, despite the rumors that have been spread about them. Insiders added that both Beyoncé and Jay-Z love Kim and think she makes a great match for their longtime friend, Kanye West.

Kim Kardashian bears the same feelings for her new friends and is happy to be able to spend time with them. During a recent interview with Oprah, she told the TV show host that she is very serious about her relationship with rapper Kanye West. The thing that she loves the most is the fact that Kanye really knows her because the two have been friends for a long period of time until they decided to be together. Sources close to her confirmed that the two love birds have secretly started to make plans for wedding.

Halle Berry Ordered To Pay Yearly Child Support Of $240K

According to TMZ, Halle Berry will have to pay a yearly child support of $240,000 to her former partner Gabriel Aubry. Although the custody of the 4-year-old Nahla is still disputed, the judges decided that the actress should pay around $20,000 to the father of the child.

Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry’s separation was not as easy as everyone thought it would be. Things are difficult because the two parents fight over the custody of their 4-year-old daughter, Nahla. So far, the judges were on the Canadian’s model side because they ordered that the “New Year’s Eve” star should pay him a yearly child support of $240,000.

The ruling of the court further explained that Berry will have to pay $20,000 each month to the father of her daughter, Gabriel Aubry. The actress didn’t pay anything until now, even though Nahla is almost 4 years old.

As expected, Halle Berry was not satisfied with the judges’ decision. She told reporters that the legal battle between her and Aubry will continue. This time, however, the actress won’t be battling over child support, but rather over the custody of the child because Halle wants to take Nahla and move to Paris.

The Oscar-winning actress has a lot on her mind, lately. Apart from her custody battle, she is also busy planning her wedding with fiancé Olivier Martinez. Berry has chosen the South African city of Cape Town as the location for her wedding ceremony because this was the place where the two met during the filming of the movie “Dark Tide”. The future husband and wife will throw a reception on a private yacht in False Bay.

There are many other details that the couple has to solve before the ceremony, such as, the choice of the wedding dress. The 45-year-old actress hasn’t decided yet which designer is best for her, but it shouldn’t be a problem for her to find one considering how popular she is.

Halle Berry has been married before; as a matter of fact, she had vowed never to marry again, but Olivier’s proposal was downright irresistible. The French actor is very excited about the wedding, especially since he was never married before. Both him and Halle plan to have at least one child together.

New Picture Reveals Angelina Jolie As Maleficent

Disney released a new picture which portrays Angelina Jolie as the Maleficent character of the well- known story Sleeping Beauty.

According to Us Weekly, the actress is almost unrecognizable with the makeup and the clothes of the villain. The 37-year-old actress ditched the secret agent look to play the part of an unusual character, the Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.

A special costume was designed for the actress to look like the “Mistress-of-All-Evil”, as the fictional character likes to call herself.

Thus, Angelina Jolie will be able to wear her favorite gown: a long loose-fitting black dress hopefully with a side split. Although the outfit is rather similar to Jolie’s wardrobe, there are several new elements in the photo, such as the black horns that were custom made for the actress.

Judging by the looks of the picture, the mother of six will be wearing green contact lenses throughout the whole movie.

In addition, her cheek bones appear to be more protruding than they normally are, so the actress might have resorted to the same implants that singer Lady Gaga used in the video “Born This Way”. Nevertheless, this is just a personal opinion as the company did not make any statements in relation to Jolie’s costume. The production of the movie began on June 13 and most of the sequences will be filmed in England at the Pinewood Studios.

Based on the press release, the image was taken from the scene where Maleficent’s heart is hardened and she curses the princess. The protagonist of the film, Aurora or Sleeping Beauty is interpreted by Elle Fanning.

It has always been a pleasure for Angelina Jolie to star in animated movies, especially now that she has become a mom and she wants her children to be proud of her. She declared in a March interview that the script of the animated classic is really interesting and that she had a lot of fun reading it.

Jolie further added that her kids were happy to hear their mom will play Maleficent. They will, thus look at the story from a different perspective and maybe realize that a person who is aggressive is not necessarily deprived of other warmer qualities, she concluded.

Giuliana And Bill Rancic Will Have A Boy!

Giuliana and Bill Rancic announced that their first child will be a boy during a baby shower in Los Angeles on Sunday. According to Us Weekly, the couple accompanied the surrogate mother to a medical checkup and they were told that the baby will be a boy.

After a long period of trials and tribulations, it looks like the sun has finally come out on Giuliana and Bill Rancic’s street. The E! News anchor has defeated breast cancer and is now getting ready to become mother for the first time.

At the beginning of May the couple decided to hire a surrogate mother and since then, they have been through many emotional moments. The baby’s first ultrasound was one of the happiest moments in Giuliana’s life. Back then, she thought she will never experience something similar and yet, one month later, the reality TV star was overwhelmed with tears of joy when she found out that she was going to have a boy.

She told the press that she and her husband can hardly wait to meet their first child. As a matter of fact, Giuliana and Bill have been preparing for so long to become parents that they think they will do a great job as a mom and a dad. The baby is due to arrive at the end of the summer, so the happy family will have to wait several more months until they can welcome the boy in their homes.

The pregnancy is a dream come true for Giuliana who has tried various methods to conceive a baby. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer, she was forced to postpone her family plans for a while, but the reality TV star didn’t give up on her dream of becoming a mom. Hiring a surrogate mother was one of the best decisions that Giuliana has taken so far.

Both Giuliana and her husband, Bill, will be in the delivery room when the baby is born. Until then, they will be traveling from their homes in Chicago and Los Angeles to accompany the surrogate mother at her medical appointments.

Obesity And Depression Linked To Sleepiness During The Day

There are numerous health conditions that afflict us today. For the most part we don’t even think of them as afflictions but just as momentary low energy moments. Daytime sleepiness is one of the afflictions on the rise, which is more than often ignored. A new research shows that obesity and depression have been linked to your sleepiness during the day.

We learned from an early age that wasting hours of sleep at night is going to make us feel drowsy the next day. As we’ve entered adulthood and got a job, a family and started putting up with chores and worrying about everything there is to, oftentimes a good night’s sleep is just another dream on the list. So, obviously feeling sleepy and dozy after a bad night’s sleep is explainable.

But finding an explanation to your daytime sleepiness doesn’t make it right. Scientists found that this particular condition is proof there are some underlying disorders that are taking the toll. Obesity and depression are modern day’s most common afflictions, and scientists are still pinpointing symptoms and generating factors.

Meanwhile, daytime sleepiness has surged as an affliction that impacts more Americans than you’d commonly imagine. In fact, as data from the National Sleep Foundation shows, some 20 percent of adult Americans are troubled by daytime sleepiness.

Alexandros Vgontzas, psychiatry professor with the Penn State University, has conducted research that showed a bad night’s sleep isn’t the only reason why you’re feeling sleepy at work. “Weight loss, depression and sleep disorders should be our priorities in terms of preventing the medical complications and public safety hazards associated with this excessive sleepiness” said Vgontzas.

Researchers conducted three studies and analyzed data from 1,741 adults that suffered with excessive daytime sleepiness. Vgontzas and fellow researchers found that weight gain was the most significant factor in the onset of daytime sleepiness. In fact, as Vgontzas explains “individuals who lost weight, excessive sleepiness improved”.

The expert added: “The primary finding connecting our three studies are that depression and obesity are the main risk factors for both new-onset and persistent excessive sleepiness”.

Scientists Say 10,000 Germ Species Live In And On Us

Despite our various cleaning products, regular scrubbing and overall good hygiene, we often forget that our body is home to numerous micro-organisms. While many think germs thrive only in and on sick people, a new research shows that even the healthiest people are home to thousands of germs species. Scientists say that 10,000 germ species live in and on us.

For those terrified by germs, the following lines are not going to be easy to read. It’s not exactly a breakthrough discovery, but for most ordinary people learning there are thousands of germ species thriving in and on us might come as a disgusting revelation. Scientists with the government’s Human Microbiome Project identified over 10,000 germ species that live in and on some of the healthiest people in the world.

These germs species thrive all over the body. They’re in your nose, crawling on your skin, thriving in your gut and even swarming on your eyelids. There’s basically no way of getting rid of them and put together, the bacteria, fungi and microbes living in and on humans weigh several pounds. Now it’s time to say “eeew”.

However, out of all the numerous germ species that make their homes in and on humans, many of them help us stay healthy. On the other hand, all people carry germs that are known to cause health conditions, such as the Staphylococcus epidermis bacteria. But as the study showed the pathogens tend to quietly coexist with the rest of the germs thriving on us. The reason behind that seems to be balance.

Dr. Philipp Tarr is one of the lead researchers in the study at hand. He explained that the discovery gives scientists “a whole new way of looking at human biology and human disease, and it’s awe-inspiring”.

The researchers made sure to emphasize that humans and the said germs coexist. In fact, when adding together each single germ, we reach a staggering total. Trillions of individuals germs reside in and our bodies. “These bacteria are not passengers. They are metabolically active”, explained Dr. Philipp Tarr.

“As a community, we now have to reckon with them like we have to reckon with the ecosystem in a forest or a body of water” added Dr. Tarr.

So, are you ready to embrace your new tenants?

Statins Linked To Fatigue, Low Energy

The more scientists look into the benefits and drawbacks of statins, the more it becomes clear such a treatment needs to be seriously talked over with the physician. A new study shows that statins are linked to fatigue, low energy and scientists still don’t know why for sure.

Cholesterol-lowering statins have become one of the highest selling pills in the market. While they’ve delivered results, more and more studies showed there’s a price for that. A new study conducted by researcher Beatrice Golomb, associate professor of medicine at the San Diego School of Medicine, shows that statins can make patients feel tired or experience low levels of energy.

“For a lot of people that we treat, there really haven’t been a lot of mortality benefits with statins” says Dr. Golomb. On the other hand, “a not inconsequential number of patients [on statins] may experience fatigue and exercise intolerance”.

Golomb’s study was conducted on 1,000 adults with no record of heart disease or diabetes. They were given low doses of statins or a placebo and were asked to rate their energy and fatigue levels. By the end of the study, it became clear that those taking the statins reported decreased levels of energy and/or fatigue during mild physical exertion.

“We found that even at comparatively modest doses, statins were associated with a not-inconsequential drop in energy in some patients, a rise in fatigue with exertion in others” writes Dr. Golomb, “and sometimes both”. She added that the symptoms were experienced both by men and women, but women seem to be more at risk.

On the overall, Dr. Golomb said “the magnitude of the effect was surprising, despite the fact that we had previous reports indicating there was a problem”. The researcher concluded that given “the fact that these drugs can have a strong negative impact on a patient’s quality of life … there is a rationale for rethinking their use among many individuals”.

Basically, since every person might experience the statins differently, if you come to the conclusion your body is having a hard time assimilating the cholesterol busters, you should check that with your physician.

Scientists Found The Cellular Origin Of Cervical Cancer

In the United States, the rates of cervical cancer diagnosis are low, but doctors strongly recommend the HPV vaccine. In Singapore, however, the rates are higher, as cervical cancer is the seventh most common type of cancer in women. Fortunately, scientists made a groundbreaking discovery, finding the cellular origin of cervical cancer and literally ending a decades’ long mystery.

This week, the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences published one of the most important findings in the cervical cancer research. A team of scientists featuring experts with Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Genome Institute of Singapore and Institute of Medical Biology have managed to answer a medical mystery that has made cervical cancer challenging for decades.

The researchers found the cellular origin of cervical cancer and can now explain why cervical cancers generated by HPV originate in the squamocolumnar junction”. Dr. Christopher P. Crum is Director of Women’s and Perinatal Pathology with Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He explained that their findings resolves “a decades-old mystery” and are bound to “have wide-ranging impact from developing more meaningful animal models of early cervical carcinogenesis to clinical implications”.

The findings also come to confirm a previous research that showed a certain type of cancers is generated only by a few cells, unique from those around them. Dr Wa Xian with the Institute of Medical Biology explained that they have found such a particular set of cells in the squamocolumnar junction of the cervix in all invasive HPV cervical cancers.

Basically, the cells the researchers found don’t regenerate when taken out of the cervix. However if they are impacted by HPV, the cells react and start generating the cervical cancer.

“This finding helps to explain the low rate of new HPV infections in the cervix after excisional therapy” said dr. Wa Xian. It “also raises the distinct possibility that preemptive removal of these cells in young women could reduce their risk of cervical cancer” he added. Not to mention that “this could be an alternative to current vaccines which only protect against HPV 16 and 18”.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, some 12,000 new patients get diagnosed with cervical cancer each year in the United States. To reduce the rate, doctors are pushing for the HPV vaccine.

Tips To Hydrate Dry Skin In The Summer

Most problems related to dry skin tend to diminish in the summertime because the heat enables us to sweat and balance the pH level. Yet, the more water we eliminate from our body, the drier our skin will become. The best thing to do is to make sure you take all the necessary measures to keep your skin hydrated all summer long and use the right products for your needs.

Body lotions are highly recommended for people with dry skin, so use them as often as you can even if it makes you feel greasy. The products that you use during these hot months must ensure the biggest sunscreen protection possible. In addition, you may opt for lotions with improved formulas that contain vitamins A and E because these maintain the elasticity of the epidermis.

Use gentle cleansers and exfoliators that cannot strip away your natural skin moisture. Alpha hydroxy acids can work miracles for dry skin, so make sure they are included in your shower gel and other daily care products. If you must use an exfoliator opt for organic gels instead of commercial ones because the latter tend to be too harsh.

Always carry a rich serum with you in case you want a natural way to minimize wrinkles. Avon Anew Reversalist Renewal Serum is one of the best products because its formula helps diminish wrinkles. Experts recommend serums with phytochemicals and plant extracts like Sesbania which have the capacity to regenerate cells.

During your summer holiday you should pay twice as much attention to the skin care, especially if you are prone to dryness. Take a shower every time you come out of the pool or the sea because the chemicals and the salt will render your skin even more sensitive. Drink at least 2.5 liters of water per day to avoid dehydration and to replace the minerals that you lose through sweat. You may also freshen up with natural juice or lemonade, but you should avoid alcohol as it eliminates water from your body.

The Stem Cell That Causes Heart Disease

Although medical experts have begun using stem cells in a variety of procedures, including breast augmentation, there’s still a lot more to learn about them. For instance, researchers with UC Berkeley have found a stem cell that causes heart disease.

The journal Nature Communications published this week a study from researchers with the UC Berkeley and the Berkeley Stem Cell Center. The findings come to contradict almost everything medical theories say about the cause of heart disease and arterial hardening. According to the report, stem cells might be at fault for heart disease and a variety of different other health problems.

Senior author Song Li, bioengineering professor, explains that during the research they were able to pinpoint to a new stem cell. It is in fact a type of stem cell that becomes active later in life, after staying “sleeping” in blood vessel walls. Once it becomes active, the stem cell Song Li’s team has identified becomes the root cause of heart disease, heart attacks and even strokes. The researchers referred to these particular stem cells as multipotent vascular stem cells.

“We call them sleeping beauty or sleeping evil cells, because they don’t do anything when they’re dormant” says Song Li. “The stem cells stay quiescent for decades before they start to grow and they make the blood vessels harden”

The theory that the activation of a dormant stem cell is behind the arterial hardening and thus heart disease contradicts most medical theories. Scientists believed that arterial hardening and clogging was caused by the wear and tear of the muscle cells of the arterial lining.

“This work should revolutionize therapies for vascular disease because we now know that stem cells rather than smooth muscle cells are the correct therapeutic target” added Song Li in the report.

“These findings shift the paradigm” explains Dr. Deepak Srivastava about the UC Berkeley study. Srivastava is the director of the Gladstone Institute of Cardiovascular Disease at UCSF and told Medical News Today that the findings could change “the target for treating vascular disease” to a very different level.

“Maybe the reason we’ve met with limited success in treating heart disease is because we’ve been going after the wrong target” concludes Dr. Deepak Srivastava.
