Comedian Ashton Kutcher thought of the most efficient way to promote the new series of Two And A half Men: appearing nude in a maximum audience show, like Ellen DeGeneres’ one. So he did, TV Guide reports.
A lot of bad reviews came towards the new cast of Two And A Half Men after the former star of the show, Charlie Sheen, was fired. Replacing his character, Charlie Harper, who is killed in the first episode of the new season, was extremely difficult. For many fans of the sitcom, Sheen was the one who made the show, so firing him was like firing almost the whole cast. The creators of the show had the difficult task of finding an actor that would fill in as completely and as fulfilling as Sheen.
First, the role of Charlie’s replacement was offered to British actor Hugh Grant, whom we think would have been hilarious and would have had the power to sustain the show. Among the other actors called in for the role was comedy giant Will Smith. But apparently the Prince of Bell Air wanted to remain just that. So, a third choice, very different from the first two (each extremely different from each other, as well), was “Are We There Yet?” star Ashton Kutcher. The actor has built himself a strong reputation of a comedy actor. His previous roles recommended him as good for playing a specific type of comedy sitcom character: a billionaire who started big in the internet industry and who is unlucky in love.
Ashton needed to give his best and to prove himself to the Two And A half Men fans. The nude poster for the new season was step one. Seeing that it got a lot of attention, he figured he had to take advantage of the idea a bit more.” I just figured I’m going to do everything nude from now on”, Kutcher tells comedian Ellen DeGeneres, while filming for a season premiere video that was set to appear on DeGeneres’ show. “I don’t know if that’s a good idea”, she replied, but the actor was ready to give it all. “Yeah. Whatever, I’m doing [it]. I’m just going to do it nude. Let’s do this!” he concluded.
When a man is that decided to show his goodies, can you continue arguing with him? Should you?
Don’t miss The Ellen DeGeneres show on September 12, 2011.
