Angelina Jolie is currently working at a new directorial project. The trailer of her new movie, Unbroken, has just been released.
The movie seems to be quite good and maybe Angelina Jolie will manage to impress this time with her work as a movie director. The movie presents the story of an Olympian, Louis Zamperini, who is taken prisoner by the Japanese Navy during World War II.
Louis is captured by the Japanese after a fatal plane crash and after surviving 47 days on a boat. Only Louis and two other crewmen manage to survive this, but they are found by the Japanese and sent to a war camp, where Louis needs to learn how to survive. The main role in the movie is played by popular actor Jack O’Connell. However, the real Zamperini makes a short appearance, too, at least in the movie trailer, which was aired in connection with the ongoing Winter Olympics.
Unbroken will not represent the directorial debut for Angelina Jolie. The star also directed In The Land of Blood and Honey. Well, the new movie is based on a script from William Nicholson and Richard LaGravenese. It is based on a best-selling novel by Laura Hillenbrand.
The movie is set to be released on December 25th 2013, on Christmas Day, so there is a lot of time to wait until filming will be completed. However, it seems that the new project already enjoys quite a great popularity, so it is expected for Angelina Jolie’s movie to be a success.
The story is absolutely impressive, as well as Louis Zamperini’s struggle to survive, despite the fact that he was held in a prisoners’ camp. The voice on the trailer indicates that Zamperini was guided by the “will to push through any obstacles, the drive never to give in to defeat.”
This reveals that the movie will be a story of endurance during the two years that Louis Zamperini spent as a prisoner in extreme hardship and regular beatings. As the story is inspired from reality, Zamperini is now 97 years old. Everyone wonders if the real Zamperini will make an appearance in the movie, as well, or the entire story will be focused on the events that occurred in the past.
