Johnny Depp seems to be closer to put at least one story behind him now. His estranged wife, Amber Heard, has decided to dismiss a domestic violence case she filed against the famous actor. The decision came after Amber and Johnny reached a USD 7 million divorce settlement.
The timing of the settlement is quite interesting. Amber and Johnny Depp have reached a deal only a few days after a video emerged online showing the famous actor during a drunken rage, being very violent and hurting himself. As part of the settlement, Amber will be withdrawing her restraining order against her former husband.
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are currently divorcing and things are getting quite ugly between the two. The actress has accused her estranged husband of physical and verbal violence throughout their entire relationship, claims that were denied by sources from the actor’s camp. The actress went to get a temporary restraining order against Depp, saying that she was very afraid of him.
“Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain,” a joint statement said according to US Weekly. “There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm. Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity. There will be no further public statements about this matter” it added.
Amber Heard filed for divorce from Johnny Depp back in May. The two first met on the set of The Rum Diary, back in 2009. The pair wedded in February 2015. They seemed to be a very happy couple and actually the divorce news came as a shock. Since the separation, Amber has been linked to a famous man. Some reports indicated that the beautiful actress was dating no one else than Elon Musk. The pair has not confirmed the dating rumors and actually a rep for Elon claimed that the whole story was untrue.
