Adam Levine decided to take a stand over the intense criticism Christina Aguilera has been receiving lately for her new curvy physique. Adam Levine told reporters last Friday he has Christina Aguilera’s back and told weight bullies to grow up.
Although during “The Voice” Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine seemed more foes than friends, in a recent press conference the Maroon 5 frontman denied they ever hated each other. During the press even for “The Voice”, Adam Levine defended Christina Aguilera against body bullies, which piss him off.
Over the past few weeks, Christina Aguilera has been sporting a physique that in the celebrity world it is unacceptable. The public and media were shocked to see Christina Aguilera’s curvy latino body after being feed with Christina Aguilera, the skinny white girl. The singer herself explained she loves her body and embraces her new look, whether people like it or hate it.
But Adam Levine feels that the criticism his fellow coach has been getting lately is pretty much bullying an artist for her appearance. “The one thing about the culture right now, celebrity culture particularly, is people feel like they can just say nasty things about other people whether it’s Christina or whether it’s me” Adam Levine told reporters. “She gets a lot and it pisses me off. Of course I have her back and of course I defend her” he added.
It was an impressive stand from Adam Levine, since the show depicted him and Christina Aguilera bickering over pretty much everything. But according to the singer, “the fights that everyone thought we were having were fictional”. “We never hated each other. We never had these secret battles that everyone thought we were having” he told reporters.
So body bullies better back down because if you’re messing with Christina Aguilera, you’re messing with Adam Levine. “It’s not cool. I’ve never liked it. I think it’s horrible and I’ll totally defend [Christina] when people say things like that because it’s no one’s business” Adam Levine said over people calling Christina Aguilera fat.
