The AARP RealPad is a device made for beginners, which comes with a user-friendly operating system and can be accessed at a low price. Coming at the price of 189 dollars, AARP RealPad may be a strong competitor on the budget tablets market. This tablet is temporarily available only in the US, and people can buy it from Wal-Mart, AARP’s website and other online retailers.

Speaking about its design, many people could say that AARP looks like the Apple iPad Mini. It feels solid and thanks to the rounded edges the grip in very good, it also feels quite cozy. The back of the device is comfortable, featuring a silver and smooth finish. The AARP tablet is not one of the lightest tablets on the market, as it weighs 0.084 pounds. Despite this, it is still easy to hold for long periods of time.

AARP RealPad is powered by Android 4.4 KitKat and when it is accessed for the first time, it starts with an easy and quick tutorial. It’s a guided walk-through of functionality basics, which are very helpful for a starter. This type of help makes AARP tablet different from other devices at the same price range. The 7.8-inch screen has a 1,024×768-pixel resolution, a little slow for today’s expectations, but it is perfect for a starter. On the back of the tablet, it is located a 5-megapixel camera and above are a pair of stereo speakers. There is also a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
