During the years, Yamaha has launched a few successful sound bars. Famous models like SRT-1000 and YAS-203 have conquered the market in the past few years. With these two models Yamaha also managed to take out its most serious competitor, Pioneer.
Now, Yamaha is back and released a new sound bar called, YSP-1600. This new sound bar probably sums all the company’s experience until this day. So, the new Yamaha YSP-1600 comes with interesting features, like Wi-Fi multiroom music, Bluetooth and HDMI. Customers will be able to buy this new product at the price of 499 dollars.
However, probably many users will say that the new Yamaha YSP-1600 is not as good as Yamaha YAS-203, which is also cheaper. This is because the new model lacks a dedicated subwoofer. This means that Yamaha YSP-1600 is not capable to deliver all the bass that a sound needs. With this huge lack, probably that Yamaha will lose the battle with its serious competitor LG Music Flow LAS751M. However, the new sound bar also comes with some pluses. Probably, the main attraction is the ability to beam surround sound around the room. Neither of the other devices on the sound bar market can do that.
As for design, the new Yamaha YSP-1600 looks pretty good and the MusicCast architecture is without a doubt one of the best on the market. Even if Yamaha has accustomed clients with devices that had feet under, now the new Yamaha YSP-1600 is flush with the ground. This means that this device will fit perfectly underneath TVs. Making a quick comparison between 1600 and the curvy 1400, the arrangement of drivers is exactly the same. As for the remote control, this one is user-friendly, homing all the necessary buttons and also comes with a wide flat shape.
In the end, the on-screen menu system is pretty decent. Probably, users will say that it has some flaws and that it is not very powerful. However, this new sound bar also promises playback from Spotify, Pandora, Rhapsody, music stored on the phone and Internet radio.
